Since its incorporation in 1960, the unprecedented growth of San Dimas has transformed the City from an essentially rural area to a well-balanced community offering industrial, commercial, and residential living. In addition to the 1,700 acre Frank G. Bonelli Recreational Area which lies within the City boundaries, there are many parks such as San Dimas Canyon Park, a city-owned golf course (San Dimas Canyon Golf Club), and over 27 miles of equestrian trails for riding. The city services include an extensive recreational program for youth and for senior citizens, and the City boasts a new modern City Hall, with excellent provisions made for County Sheriff and Fire Departments, along with a fine Los Angeles County Library and Engineering Regional Office.

Rave Mobile Alerts Emergency Notification System
The Rave Mobile Safety Alert system gives City Officials the ability to notify City residents by telephone, text, and or email about emergency situations or critical community alerts. The system will only be used when situations arise that the community should be aware of (i.e. severe weather, wildfire, water main breaks, alerts concerning a missing child or adult, road closings, law enforcement emergencies and hazardous material spills).
Rave delivers the message through a high-speed telephone calling system to a phone number registered in the system. City staff will select a “call area” and the phone numbers will be matched up electronically to the addresses. A pre-recorded message will be sent out via the telephone with information about the situation and instructions.
Initially, the City will use telephone company records to create its notification list. However, residents should not assume they are in the system. You should register online, particularly if you have moved or changed your phone number in the last year or if you prefer to be contacted on your cell or business phone.
There is no cost to participate, you will need to have your first and last name, physical street address (no P.O. Boxes), city, state, zip code, primary phone number and alternate phone numbers.

While Rave Mobile Alerts is one of the industry leading alert systems, we cannot guarantee you will receive notifications in all cases. Emergencies and disasters are unpredictable situations, and the notifications that are sent are dependent on external factors that are out of the City of San Dimas’ control such as your wireless carrier, email delivery system, etc. If your wireless provider is having a service issue, for example, you may not receive the notification. Rave leverages many different communication methods, technologies, and delivery options to better the likelihood you will receive notifications.
Absolutely not! Your information is private and will not be used or distributed in any manner. For more information, you can reference the Rave privacy policy and/or the terms of use.
