Since its incorporation in 1960, the unprecedented growth of San Dimas has transformed the City from an essentially rural area to a well-balanced community offering industrial, commercial, and residential living. In addition to the 1,700 acre Frank G. Bonelli Recreational Area which lies within the City boundaries, there are many parks such as San Dimas Canyon Park, a city-owned golf course (San Dimas Canyon Golf Club), and over 27 miles of equestrian trails for riding. The city services include an extensive recreational program for youth and for senior citizens, and the City boasts a new modern City Hall, with excellent provisions made for County Sheriff and Fire Departments, along with a fine Los Angeles County Library and Engineering Regional Office.
Field Rental
The City of San Dimas has several baseball/softball, soccer, and multi-purpose open play fields within City parks that can accommodate various athletic activities. Scheduled programs administered by the City and School teams have priority. When City fields are not scheduled, they can be made available for use by groups/teams, either residents or non-residents. Please review our Fields Policy and “Getting Started” Steps below before reserving a space for your next sporting event.

Getting Started
- Email parksrecreation@sandimascagov regarding your interest. Include your organization/event name, location you’re interested in, anticipated dates and times, as well as contact information.
- Read and review our Fields Allocation Policy to address any questions or concerns you may have.
- You will then be contacted by a Parks & Recreation representative to submit your paperwork (listed below) in order to get approved for your rental.

- Completed and signed application
- Current insurance certificate that includes the City of San Dimas (245 E. Bonita Ave.) as additional insured (only required for reservations exceeding 1 day)
- Roster with each player’s address (for organized teams)

Sportsplex Softball Fields
- 60 foot base pegs, lights, dugouts.
- Field preparation and base rental available for additional fee.
Sportsplex North Soccer Field
- Regulation soccer field, lights.
- Limited to seasonal use only. Availability is limited.
Sportsplex Junior Varsity Baseball Field
- 90 foot bases, dugouts, pitchers mound, no lights.
- Field preparation and base rental available for additional fee.
Sportsplex Southeast Baseball Field
- 90 foot bases, dugouts, pitchers mound, lights.
- Field preparation and base rental available for additional fee.
- 40 yard by 30 yard practice area with lights.

Tennis Courts – First Come First Used
Lighted tennis courts are available at Pioneer, Lone Hill, Marchant and Ladera Serra Parks on a first come first used basis.
Reserved Courts
Lighted tennis courts are available at SportsPlex and can be reserved for special functions.
Basketball Courts – First Come First Used
Basketball courts are available at Ladera Serra, Loma Vista, Lone Hill, Marchant, and Pioneer Parks, as well as at Sportsplex, on a first come first used basis.
