The Community Development Department includes five divisions: Planning, Building and Safety, Code Compliance, Parking Enforcement and Housing.  The Planning Division is responsible for long-term planning of the community, development review, subdivision review, and environmental review.   The Building and Safety Division is responsible for administering and enforcing the California Building Codes and the construction section of the San Dimas Municipal Code to ensure minimum standards to protect life and property.  The goal of the City’s Code Compliance program is to promote and maintain a quality living environment for residents.  The Parking Enforcement division handles overnight parking permits and parking citations. Housing is a great resource for the community to find housing and homeless resources.
