Encroachment Permits
A Public Works Encroachment Permit is required before any construction or activity that involves the City right-of-way. The City retains an established right-of-way on each public street. The right-of-way is intended for the purpose of public improvements including streets, sidewalks, curb and gutters, streetlights, street signs, and City-owned trees. Utility structures and lines are also often located in the right-of-way including sewer, water, and communication lines. To find the right-of-way for your street contact the Public Works Department.
Encroachment Permit
An encroachment permit can only be obtained by a licensed Class A or applicable Class C contractor. At least 24 hours prior notice is required for all Public Works inspections. Inspection requests and inquiries may be directed to Public Works at (909) 394-6240 or via email publicworks@sandimasca.gov.
