Since its incorporation in 1960, the unprecedented growth of San Dimas has transformed the City from an essentially rural area to a well-balanced community offering industrial, commercial, and residential living. In addition to the 1,700 acre Frank G. Bonelli Recreational Area which lies within the City boundaries, there are many parks such as San Dimas Canyon Park, a city-owned golf course (San Dimas Canyon Golf Club), and over 27 miles of equestrian trails for riding. The city services include an extensive recreational program for youth and for senior citizens, and the City boasts a new modern City Hall, with excellent provisions made for County Sheriff and Fire Departments, along with a fine Los Angeles County Library and Engineering Regional Office.

YWCA San Gabriel Valley Senior Services Home Delivered Meals: Frozen microwaveable meals delivered once a week to any eligible homebound senior age 60 and over in the San Gabriel Valley area. Seven meals include fresh fruit, milk, bread, and margarine. No charge for the service. A voluntary confidential donation of $3.00 per meal is suggested. Meals on Wheels: Hot lunch delivered by a friendly volunteer to any eligible homebound resident is the San Dimas and La Verne area. Regular and diabetic menus are available. Monday through Friday from Noon to 1:00 p.m. For meal delivery information please call Meals on Wheels at 909. 596.1828.
Transportation Programs
Get-About: Get About is a door-to-door transportation service for seniors and disabled persons in the Pomona Valley. Get About is funded and sponsored by the cities of Claremont, La Verne, Pomona, and San Dimas and is operated on their behalf by the Pomona Valley Transportation Authority. Riders registered with Get About can travel throughout the Pomona Valley, Monday through Sunday. All they need to do is call the day before their trip.
