Since its incorporation in 1960, the unprecedented growth of San Dimas has transformed the City from an essentially rural area to a well-balanced community offering industrial, commercial, and residential living. In addition to the 1,700 acre Frank G. Bonelli Recreational Area which lies within the City boundaries, there are many parks such as San Dimas Canyon Park, a city-owned golf course (San Dimas Canyon Golf Club), and over 27 miles of equestrian trails for riding. The city services include an extensive recreational program for youth and for senior citizens, and the City boasts a new modern City Hall, with excellent provisions made for County Sheriff and Fire Departments, along with a fine Los Angeles County Library and Engineering Regional Office.

Lifeguard Training
Prepares you for a job as a lifeguard. This class teaches lifeguard candidates the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid, American Red Cross CPR for the professional rescuer. Participants must be 15 years of age by the last day of class. Class fee is $145 a material of $35 due to the instructor the first day of class, includes e-book and certifications. Please bring bathing suit and towel to every class meeting. Each class needs a minimum of 4 students to be conducted.
Water Safety Instructor
Prepares you for a job as a swim lesson instructor. This class provides the certification and training necessary to teach all American Red Cross swimming and water safety courses. Participants must be 16 years of age by the last day of class. Class fee includes e-books, certifications, and prerequisite Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) which is required for all American Red Cross Instructors. Please bring a bathing suit and towel to every class meeting. Class fee is $145, there is a material fee of $35 due to the instructor the first day of class. Class needs a minimum of 4 students to be conducted.
Recertification Classes
Lifeguard Review
This class allows individuals who have been previously certified in Lifeguard and First Aid to renew their certification. Students will demonstrate skills and take a written test to prove competency in Lifeguard and First Aid. No instructor assistance or materials will be provided with this course, students will need to bring materials and study in advance. Class fee is $30 there is a $35 material fee due to instructor day of class.
