Want to Vote in the Upcoming Election?

Any member of the public who meets the requirements below may vote.
  • Be eighteen years of age
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Registered where you currently live
  • Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony
  • Not currently found mentally incompetent to vote by a court

  Vote by Mail

How to Return your Ballot:

  • By mail, remember no postage is necessary
  • In person at any Vote by Mail drop box location
  • At any Vote Center in L.A. County
Vote by Mail Ballots should be received, turned in personally by the voter or an authorized representative to the county elections office or to a Vote Center within your county. A Vote by Mail Ballot received by the election’s official from the United States Postal Service no later than 7 days after the election will be processed and counted.

The Los Angeles County Register Recorder’s Office manages all elections including city elections consolidated with the county. If you have not received your Vote by Mail Ballot, would like to become a Permanent Vote by Mail voter or have questions please contact the Register Recorder’s Office at 1-800-815-2666 Option #2.

Register/Reregister

You can register by contacting the City Clerk’s Office (909) 394-6210 or the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office at 1-800-815-2666 Option #2 or online at
www.lavote.net . The following information is needed to register:

  • Your California Driver License or California Identification Card Number
  • The last four of your social security number
  • Your date of birth

Checking your Registration Status before Election Day can make your voting experience more efficient. If you have recently moved and are still in Los Angeles County make sure you register with your current address. If you cannot register before the deadline, you may vote provisionally at a Vote Center.
